RAM 1500 TRX Revealed

RAM brings you the power with the RAM TRX in the form of a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that pumps out an impressive 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. With this kind of power under the hood, the TRX can do a top speed of 118 mph while going from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds or less. The engine pairs nicely with a Torqueflite eight-speed automatic transmission, which offers a smooth ride and handles the excess torque relatively easily. When adequately equipped, the RAM 1500 TRX can tow up to an impressive 8,100 pounds with a payload capacity of 1,310 pounds. This type of power is unprecedented and could only be in a RAM truck.

While most drivers will be attracted to the RAM TRX power, several features are also here to keep you occupied and comfortable. Coming standard is a Launch Control option with Launch Assist that helps regulate the engine RPM output while monitoring the wheel slip feedback to help you achieve the best acceleration possible. Inside the cabin, the RAM TRX has an all-new heads-up display that serves as a virtual cockpit while displaying a ton of customizable information on your windshield. You also get the option of a Harmon Kardon nineteen-speaker audio system with exclusive materials found only on the TRX. A Trailer Reverse Steering Control System is also designed explicitly for the TRX,  which uses a dial point to your trailer in the desired direction. At the same time, the system takes complete control of the steering wheel. Last but not least are the over 100 active and passive safety systems, including blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.

There are so many more features that RAM tailors specifically for the TRX! The Unconnect touchscreen comes with Drive Modes and Off-Road Pages, a first in the pickup segment. The Drive Modes are dynamic and use performance-tuned software to pre-configure and distinguish between five optimal modes, including a Custom mode that allows the driver to customize their driving experience based on any number of situations. A Snow mode also provides you with more traction during slippery conditions. Additionally, there are three off-road modes: Mud/Sand, Rock, and Baja. These allow the driver to choose the best method for the terrain around them. The Drive Modes and the Off-Road Drive Modes bring you the power right to your fingertips as they are available with the touch of a button.

The RAM 1500 TRX is designed to outperform any other pickup on and off the road. Ground clearance for the RAM TRX is an incredible 11.8 inches, largely due to a 2-inch ride height increase. You also get standard 35-inch tires explicitly designed for off-roading, and when you combine the 35-inch tires with the ride height increase, the TRX can go over the most challenging obstacles at a high rate of speed. To protect all of the TRX critical components, the pickup has five skid plates and available heavy-duty gauge steel rock sliders. In the back of the truck, the rear suspension includes active damping and an exclusive five-ring coil system for improved ride characteristics and impeccable durability.
